Government High Performance Building Operations Course Announced in DC area
AFE has announced that the first Government Operators of High Performance Buildings (GOHP) certification preparatory course will be held in Reston, Virginia from April 30 - May 3, 2012. Jointly created and presented by AFE and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the program is designed to provide training in energy management, sustainability, and operations and maintenance for government personnel and contractors operating government high performance buildings. Better Buildings Initiatives Could Save American Businesses $40 Billion
President Obama announced the Better Buildings Initiative in February, 2011, as part of his Administrations vision for "catalyzing a homegrown, clean energy economy in the United States." The Better Buildings Initiative set a national target of improving energy efficiency in commercial buildings by 20 percent by 2020.
