IFMA Foundation Research and Sustainability White Papers
In order to keep the profession informed of new developments in the industry, ongoing research is essential. The IFMA Foundation funds worthwhile research projects that strengthen the multifaceted knowledge and skills of FM professionals. The IFMA Foundation gathers topics relevant to facility management and groups them into five categories: emerging trends (topics that will matter next or are being redefined); timely topics (sizzlers); ongoing issues (topics that matter now); background issues (infrastructure, profession, trends, demographics, etc.); and blue sky (visionary).USGBC Research
Green building research and reports on the benefits of Green Building from The US Green Building CouncilThe Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments
The Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments is a group of industry leaders who practice and are recognized for leadership in sustainability; that is economic, social and environmental responsibility. They are committed to delivering high performance sustainable solutions for the built environment. As one part of their mission, the organization produces White Papers and Case Studies highlighting the benefits of Green and Sustainable building and maintenance of green building systems.

The AFE Foundation supports the development of research, Case Studies and White Papers. A sample of those White Paper can be found below. The AFE Foundation is actively seeking White Papers and Case Studies from acknowledged experts in sustainable built environments; maintenance, operations and management of built systems; and scientific research that would be of benefit for facilities professionals in performing their jobs.
