Facilities America Conference Grant

Facilities America Conference Grants are made available to enable facility professionals, associates and educators to attend Facilities America who would not otherwise be able to participate in the conference. The AFE Foundation accepts applications for grants up to the current cost of a full registration to AFE's Facilities America prior to the early registration, and attendance costs, up to a total of $1000, from applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant is currently employed or formerly employed in the Facilities Engineering profession.
  • Applicant is not eligible for student scholarships.
  • Applicant has not attended any other FM-related conferences in the past 12-months on a scholarship, bursary, subsidy or grant.
  • Applicant has sought other sources of funding first including employer and local AFE Chapter, Council or professional associations that applicant is a member of, but has not been able to secure funding from these sources.
  • Applicant has demonstrated financial need via the application.
  • Applicant has clear professional goals that will be supported by attending Facilities America.

Membership in AFE is not a requirement to apply for this grant. Members of AFE Foundation Board of Directors and members of the AFE Board of Directors (nor their spouses or dependents) are not eligible for funding under this program.

The AFE Foundation's Scholarship Committee will consider all requests received within the deadline date and will make recommendations to the AFE Foundation Board. The AFE Foundation Board's decisions are final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

Payments will be awarded:

Payments will be awarded as a reimbursement check for travel, lodging, and other reasonable expenses to be paid to the recipient following the conference and upon submission of an authorized AFE travel Expense Reimbursement Request.

Applications must be post-marked by August 1, 2011, if you plan to attend Facilities America held on October 11-12, 2011. Decisions of the scholarship judges are final. Applicants will be notified of results by email, no telephone calls please.
