Industry Director
OBJECTIVE
To recommend to the Board new programs and policies designed to serve members in the overall facilities engineering work environments, including regular individual members and corporate members, and to assist in evaluation and management of existing programs to ensure continuing viability and responsiveness to the needs of industry-based members.
To foster the growth of AFE through industry and industry recognition of the name, products and services of AFE to the corporate world.
COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Industry Director also holds Board responsibility for representation of certain committees as determined by the Board of Directors. It is not necessary that the Industry Director Chair every committee/meeting, but shall facilitate the smooth operation and management of the committees and report the findings and recommendations of such meetings and committees to the Board of Directors at their regular monthly meetings.

TASKS
- Responsible for short- and long-range planning for programs to serve industry-based members consistent with the professional and technical goals of AFE defined by the Board of Directors, and subject to the financial policies and guidelines established by the Board.
- Oversees the corporate memberships to ensure that needs of corporate members are met and recommends programs and policies to attract new corporate members.
- Develops program and policies to enhance the use of maintenance and operation professionals in industry.
- Makes recommendations to the Board concerning potential policies or services designed to aid and support the careers and work of AFE professionals in their work environments.
- Works to establish a recognized professional identity for facilities engineers and computational scientists in industry.
- Promotes networking among the members of AFE to ensure that their ideas are heard and that they have a means for sharing ideas among one another.
- Establishes programs to foster stronger ties between AFE and industry. This includes disseminating information to AFE on industry’s needs and improving the image of industrial work among the broader facilities community.
GOALS 2011
- Identify and develop 5 new GTP members per year
- Identify and develop 100 new corporate individual members, through expansion of existing Corporations or additional Corporation membership
- Expand CRC to bi-annual meetings, with expanded attendance by industry
