Continuing Education Units at Facilities America

What you earn in Vegas will follow you after Vegas! By attending the educational sessions at Facilities America, you will earn the CEUs to keep your CPMM, CPE or CPS Certification current.

AFE designates Facilities America educational sessions as eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). You can earn a maximum of 2 CEUs toward AFE Recertification by attending Facilities America. You may claim only those hours of credit that you actually spent in the educational activity.

How do I earn CEU credit?
CEUs are earned by attending the Facilities America educational sessions or facilities tours; visiting the Expo and the exhibit hall or attending meal functions are not eligible for CEU credit. For each hour of educational programming, you earn 0.1 CEU according to the following schedule:

• One full day of educational sessions (8 hours or more of classroom time) earns 1.0 CEU
• One half-day of educational sessions (4 hours or more of classroom time) earns 0.5 CEU
• One hour of educational sessions earns 0.1 CEU

Does AFE keep records of my CEU activities?
AFE keeps a record of who registered for Facilities America, but we do not keep records of registrants' attendance at individual Facilities America sessions. It is your responsibility to track the sessions you attend and claim only those hours actually spent in the educational activity. We recommend you note the sessions you attend in your Program Book and keep it for your records.

AFE Does provide an easy way for you to track and record your own professional development activity on our Web site. You can go to http://impak.afe.org/members_online/members/ceus.asp and add your CEUs, print a transcript of your program attendance, etc. To get there:

1. Enter the Members Only section of www.AFE.org
2. Click on the "Additional Features" link from the menu that appears on the Members Only home page
3. Click on the "View/Add CEUs" link from the left-hand menu option.

How can I obtain an attendance certificate?
To pick up your Certificate of Attendance, visit the kiosks during exhibit hall hours both days. The certificate will document your overall participation. Detailed CEU transcripts will be e-mailed to you approximately two weeks after the event. Upon receipt, you may submit your CEU transcript, along with your letter of request for credit, to your association/organization for approval.
