AFE Chapter 33 Boston recently awarded nine scholarships to engineering students at their annual Leo J. Monty Scholarship Dinner. The event recognized students for their academic dedication and commitment to pursuing careers in engineering and facilities management. We are proud to recognize the chapter's efforts to support these students and provide opportunities for the next generation of leaders.
The Leo J. Monty Scholarship Fund honors the legacy of Leo J. Monty, a founding member of the Boston Plant Engineers Club, which evolved into the American Institute of Plant Engingeers (AIPE) and is now the Association for Facilities Engineering. Throughout his career, Leo was dedicated to advancing plant engineering, promoting education, and fostering professional relationships among his colleagues. The scholarship fund continues that legacy by supporting students pursuing education and career advancement in facilities engineering and related fields. Through need-based and merit-based scholarships, the fund helps expand educational opportunities and encourage professional growth.
The annual scholarship dinner reflects AFE Chapter 33 Boston’s continued commitment to education, professional development, and the future of the facilities engineering profession. We would like to congratulate all nine recipients as well as the chapter for its dedication to sustaining the Leo J. Monty Scholarship Fund and creating opportunities for future engineering leaders.
