The AFE Women’s Advisory Council (AWAC) highlights the leadership and other contributions women make to the global FM community.  Through the AFE online forums and other channels, AWAC members share career insights, success stories and strategic insights.  The AWAC also organizes regional, national and international activities and events, offering targeted content and recognition to AWAC members.  To further harness the power of this professional demographic, AFE reserves a voting seat on its board of directors for the AWAC Chairwoman. 

The AFE Architecture & Design PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for architecture and design services. 

The AFE Spanish Language PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing professional development services for FMs whose primary or first language is Spanish. 

The AFE Mechanical Engineering PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for mechanical engineering services. 

The AFE HVAC&R PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for installing, maintaining and servicing HVAC&R systems and equipment.  

The AFE Civil Engineering PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for civil engineering services. 

The AFE Electrical Engineering PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for electrical engineering services. 

The AFE Food & Hospitality PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for delivering products and services related to event planning or the management of hotels, restaurants, and food preparation or distribution facilities. 

The AFE Sports & Entertainment PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the operation and management of sports venues, concert halls, theaters and auditoriums. 

The AFE Construction & Restoration PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for real estate development, construction and restoration services. 

The AFE Water Management PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of water throughout the built environment. 

The AFE Academic Facilities PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of academic – college campuses as well as primary and secondary school buildings – or training facilities. 

The AFE Healthcare Facilities PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of hospital, urgent care, outpatient clinic and other medical facilities. 

The AFE Government & Critical Facilities PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of government and critical facilities. 

The AFE Controls, Instrumentation & Technology (CIT) PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering product or service solutions or developing guidelines for the development, integration, management or procurement of BAS software, controls, equipment or other technology, including advanced tech like AI and blockchain, throughout the built environment. 

The AFE Environmental Engineering PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for environmental engineering services. 

The AFE Retail Facilities PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of retail facilities and shopping centers. 

The AFE Airports & Aerospace Engineering PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering aerospace engineering services or developing guidelines or offering other services for the management of airport facilities. 

The AFE Amusement & Theme Parks PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering amusement park and roller coaster engineering services or developing guidelines or offering other services for the management of amusement and theme parks. 

The AFE Residential, Assisted Living & Daycare PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of apartment buildings or assisted living and daycare facilities. 

The AFE Oil & Gas PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of oil and gas facilities. 

The AFE Museums & Historic Preservation PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of museums and historically significant facilities. 

The AFE Industrial & Labor Law PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors, legal experts and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of liability management or labor relations arising from the operation of a facility. 

The AFE Public Utilities PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of facilities used in the operation of public utilities. 

The AFE STEM Educators PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for developing or offering STEM curricula to secondary and post-secondary students. 

The AFE Pest Control PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for commercial or residential pest control services. 

The AFE Zoological Parks & Aquariums PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of zoos and aquariums. 

The AFE Flooring PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for flooring services. 

The AFE Doors & Locks PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for either door installation and maintenance or locksmith services. 

The AFE Landscaping PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for landscaping services. 

The AFE Roofing PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for roofing services. 

The AFE Cleaning & Janitorial PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for cleaning and janitorial services. 

The AFE Warehouse & Fulfillment PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering services or developing guidelines for the management of warehouses or fulfillment centers. 

The AFE General & Preventive Maintenance PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering or developing guidelines for general and preventive maintenance services. 

The AFE Automation & Robotics PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering product or service solutions or developing guidelines for the development, integration, deployment or procurement of artificial intelligence and robots throughout the built environment. 

The AFE Agricultural Facilities PIC shall be open to participation from AFE Members, industry professionals, educators, government officials, vendors and consultants involved in offering professional advice, products or services regarding land, land usage rights, buildings and structures, machinery and other equipment used for producing, processing, preparing, packaging, storing, distributing, marketing or transporting agricultural or forestry goods.
